A collection that never fails to get me excited (and I really mean this, I check the website religiously for weeks in anticipation of its arrival) is Topman Design. This is for a handful of reasons: It never fails to come out with something different, the designs are always innovatively wearable, and most importantly – I can afford it without succumbing to at least a full week of purchase guilt. The collection currently on sale has its roots set deeply in the Eastern Block, with hard lines, military greens and urban camouflage. However, currently, Topman are stocking a snippet of their Spring Summer collection, a line that really did get my blood racing this season. Their show, set in the opulently glassed venue of the Royal Opera House brought with it a melee of exciting shapes. Waistlines edged higher and higher, reined in by hugely dominant belts to leave the fabric creeping meaningfully up the boys’ torsos over their neatly tucked in tops. To my huge disappointment, my favourite piece from the collection, the piece that has me refreshing my browser in vain is not stocked in the micro collection. And this piece is the sunglasses. They are incredible, an oversized seventies throwback with huge circular lenses that are just an ultimate statement of masculine chic. Shop the collection (which will hopefully soon include the sunglasses) on Topman.com
