Rarely do us, mere mortals get an opportunity to have a sneak peak at the wonderful collections of clothing (and accessories) of the rich and famous. So if next month, you find yourself walking the streets of New York wondering how you should entertain yourself, the answer is easy โ head to the Fashion Institute of Technology to Daphne Guinness' wardrobe exhibition! The exhibition opens on the 17th of September and it should be on every self-respecting fashionista's To-See list. Miss Guinness was one of late Alexander McQueen's muses so amongst the beautiful garments belonging to the heiress, there's an Alexander McQueen jacket adorned with eagle-head epaulettes the size of a man's fist, Lacroix coat, Twenties-style Chanel dress, Balenciaga blouse and so on. Over 100 garments and accessories, including 10-inch Nina Ricci shoes, Philip Treacy hats and custom made pair of Louboutins, are a solid prove (if anyone ever needed one) why Daphne Guinness has been named to the International Best Dressed list and credited by Tom Ford himself as ''one of โ if not the โ most stylish women living''. This is a highly anticipated exhibition and a must-see for anyone interested in fashion! Guinness proves herself to be not only a knowledgeable collector of couture, a style icon but also presents some of her own designs. If you're lucky enough to be in NYC next month you know which way to head, we find it hard to believe you'd regret it!
