There's a few certain fashion houses who undoubtedly earned their right to be referred to as visionary, and undoubtedly Balenciaga belongs to one of them. Nicolas Ghesquière has been long known for skilful construction and almost technical use of garments, therefore it comes as no surprise that the newest A/W 11 collection is full of futuristic shapes and fabrics. The behind the scenes video offers us a cheeky preview at chunky bomber jackets woven from strips of faux leather, cape-like jackets, tailored dresses and skinny trousers, geometric, leather, fishnet doily dresses and cobalt blues and fushia lavender accent color palette. With the highest of standards, the collection concentrates a lot on the detail – tapestry-like patterns on the shoes and clutches, spider-web netting detail on shoulders. Shot on a location closely resembling Harry Potter's Hogwards and with hunting music by Rufus Wainwright the video gives as an exciting tingle and that sort of impatient feeling – we've said it before and we'll say it again: A/W 11 campaigns are looking mighty good for far!
